Becoming A Member of North Shore

Your membership means more than simply signing a piece of paper. Becoming a member of North Shore Church expresses your commitment to this "spiritual family", a family that worships together, grows in faith together, and serves one another. We are committed to connecting with you and desire to help you solidify your faith and find your place at North Shore Church.

Church membership is not a means of salvation; becoming a member of North Shore Church or any other church does not assure anyone of eternal life in heaven. Church membership is also not a requirement for worshiping or serving at North Shore Church, and is not a command found in the Bible. The Bible does however tell believers to meet regularly with a group of Christians who love, serve, and encourage one another.

"For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." - Romans 12:4-5

The requirements for membership at North Shore Church are three simple things. You are accepting Christ or have accepted Christ as you Savior and prayed to God to provide His saving grace through Jesus Christ to you and are willing to make a public profession of that faith in asking the Church to accept you as a member. Secondly, you have been baptized as a believer or want to be baptized as a believer. Finally, you have attended the North Shore Church membership class.

For membership, though immersion remains our preference, we understand that those coming from denominations that do not practice immersion may still have a meaningful baptismal experience associated with their coming to Christ. We do not want to diminish the significance of what God has done in their lives and will accept them for membership based upon the testimony of their salvation and baptism. If you would like to know more about baptism in order to follow the teaching of Christ, as a believer, you can attend the membership class or we would be happy to meet with you.
